PLEASE NOTE:

The KSU Museum will be closed Thurs., April 24 to Sat., April 26 for the Annual Fashion Show.
The Museum will reopen on Sun., April 27, noon-4:45 p.m. 

This is the first year that the Museum will host the Fashion School's Annual Fashion Show, with tickets sold for six unique seating areas within the Museum. More details are provided at right.

Arts College Faculty Honored by KSU Student Accessibility Services

Dr. Catherine Amoroso LeslieJulie FriedmanTwo faculty members in the College of the Arts were recently honored for their commitment to fostering student accessibility. Julie Friedman, part-time faculty in the School of Art, and Dr. Catherine Leslie, associate professor and graduate studies coordinator in the Fashion School, were both honored with an “Excellence in Accessibility” award by Student Accessibility Services (SAS)

The awards were presented at a faculty recognition reception held by SAS on March 19. The reception acknowledged 21 faculty and staff at Kent State who provided “outstanding support to students with disabilities.” Nominations for the award were submitted by students receiving support from SAS.

Musical Theatre Students Travel to New York City for 2014 Showcase

The School of Theatre and Dance once again wishes luck and success to the 14 musical theatre students traveling to New York City to perform for invited agents, managers and casting directors during this year's Performance Showcase. The showcase, a collaboration with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, will take place at the West Bank Café's Laurie Beechman Theatre on April 7 and 8.

Alumni in the New York area are encouraged to attend the Performance Showcase.

Acclaimed Ensemble HD Performs Music from Cleveland's Happy Dog

Kent Dance Ensemble's Annual Concert Presents Jazz and Modern Dance

Kent State University’s School of Theatre and Dance continues its 2013-2014 season with faculty and guest choreographed works performed by members of the Kent Dance Ensemble. Kent Dance Ensemble: Movin’ On Up will be presented at 8 p.m on Fri., April 4 and Sat., April 5 and at 2 p.m. on April 6, will be performed in the E. Turner Stump Theatre in the Center for the Performing Arts.
 
The Annual Fashion Show Moves to the Kent State University Museum

The Fashion School at Kent State University will present the Annual Fashion Show, FS2, on Sat., April 26, at 1 and 6 p.m. in the Kent State University Museum.  While the production remains branded as “FS2,” the tagline for this year’s show is “Regardez-ça,” a French phrase meaning “watch this.”

This is the first year the Annual Fashion Show will be held in the museum. This location gives every guest the chance to see garments up close, all while seated in the museum’s galleries. When purchasing tickets, patrons will be able to select from six different seating locations. Tickets for the 1 p.m. matinee show are priced at $35 to $45, while tickets for the 6 p.m. awards show are currently sold out. Tickets may be purchased from the Performing Arts Box Office by calling 330-672-ARTS (2787), or visiting http://kentfashionschool.tix.com.

The 39th Annual Evening with the Orchestra
KSU Orchestra Director, Charles Latshaw

This gala event will be held on Sat., April 5 and is an annual fundraiser for scholarships for Orchestra musicians. Recently the Orchestra Society has provided over $37,000 in scholarships annually. Following a social hour at 6 p.m., and dinner at 7 p.m., the Orchestra with Music Director Charles Latshaw will perform a concert. It will feature as guest conductor David Dix, publisher of the Record Courier, who won last year’s conduct-the-orchestra auction. Read Full Article
